I married a storyteller

Sometimes I give my husband a hard time for his storytelling.  I've heard some of his stories more times than I can remember.  I've left the room a few more times than that.  But when Adam tells a story, he is very good and very animated.  After 3 summers in Minnesota with customers and campfires, I can guarantee that when he tells a story, people listen and love it.   I still love it, sometimes I just don't need it repeated, but I still love that he is a great storyteller.  There are 2 little ones in our house that love it too.  I think you'll be able to tell by their expressions when I snapped a few photo's of the nights story telling before bedtime.
Here is Adam's impression of R2D2.
Here is Adam playing C3PO.

The kids love hearing their Dad tell stories, and watch out, cause they might just be taking after him.

Brock is 3 years old

Friday was Brock's third birthday.  For most of the day he did not want to be 3.  He kept telling us that he is still 2.  But Ady kept telling him how much fun it is to have a birthday and then we took him to a store to pick out a cake(we are moving and busy so we didn't bake a cake) and he picked out chocolate cupcakes with green frosting(Brock loves green).  Then when he saw that we had some presents he changed his mind and decided that having a birthday wasn't all bad.
Brock was able to blow out 2 of the three candles on the first try.  However, when he took a breath to blow out the third candle Ady had decided that she was tired of waiting to eat her cupcake and blew out the third candle from across the table.
Brock seemed to be pretty happy with his presents.  He got a couple of matchbox cars(one was a Batman helicopter) from Ady, a transformer from mom and dad, another transformer (one for 3 year olds) from Grandma and Grandpa VT, a book from Grandma Clark and a Buzz Lightyear from Grandma and Grandpa Haddock.  He loves all his new stuff.  He has been sleeping with them in his bed the last few nights.

I thinkBrock's favorite thing he did over the weekend was mow the lawn with Grandpa.  He was grinning the whole time, and told us all about driving the tractor!
Here he is, 3 years old and doing his best "Bob the Builder" imitation.

March Update

Life at our house has been busy.  I've been traveling a ton lately for work (California, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Minnesota in the last 6 weeks).  This week I've got an exhibit for the lodge at the International Sportsmen's Expo in Salt Lake.  We have our dates picked to head back to the lodge next month.  Kasey has been busy making shirts and playing basketball.  Her church team won the stake tournament and the first round of region play.  Brock is getting to be more trouble than we thought possible.  He is extremely independent and sometimes downright mean.  However sometimes he does say the funniest things.  The other night he was saying the prayer at a meal and it went like this. "Heavenly Father, thank you for today, thank you for our family.  Thank you for-hey dad, did you know I have my head bowed?".  I quickly told him that I had noticed and thanked him for remembering to do that, then asked him to continue.  He did.  "Please bless the food- hey dad, did you know that condors always have their heads hunched over like this?  I like to do it so that I can be like a condor.  I like condors they are big and kinda scary but I like them".  Before I could figure out how to respond he continued. "Please bless mom and Ady-hey dad, did you know that condors live in the desert and eat dead animals?  I learned about them when Diego had to rescue one.  Did you know that Diego is an animal rescuer?".  This time he expected a response.  My response was, "are you finished praying, I'd like to eat."
Ady is doing really well in school.  She has finally decided that she likes to read.  A couple of nights ago she picked Green Eggs and Ham for her bedtime book.  We have read this book probably a thousand times in the last 5 years.  But this time was a first for us, Ady decided she wanted to read it to me.  It took at least 25 minutes, but she read the whole thing.  I've never thought that much of a 62 page book, but she had Brock mesmerized and you could tell she was very proud of herself, probably almost as proud as her dad was when she finished.  Kasey was gone to a basketball game, but I am sure that she will get her turn now that Ady has decided that reading is fun.
We took our annual trip to the Ronald McDonald house a couple of weeks ago.  This year the kids had collected 3 jars of pop tabs (no we didn't drink that much soda, we collect them at the resort).  They were very excited to give them so that some sick kid's families could be helped.  Each time we go there, it is both a scary reminder of our ordeal with Brock's heart, but also a nice reminder that there are wonderful people out there trying to help.  I know that Kasey and I will be forever grateful to all the people who helped us out at that time and will forever marvel at the strangers who stepped in during our time of need.  I'm glad that the kids like to collect them and it gives us a chance to talk about our blessings and why we help others.

2013 Wrestling Season

As most of you know, we live in Minnesota in the summer and Utah in the winter.  Part of the reason we live in Utah in the winter is because I help out my Dad with his school's wrestling program.  I hate the bus rides, and some of the shenanigans the kids pull, but most of the time I enjoy working with the students.  I enjoy getting a workout and seeing the young men improve as the season goes along.  All told, this was my 6th season helping out with a high school wrestling program and probably my most memorable one.  When we bought Clearwater Lodge I asked my parents to come out for part of the summer and help us with the kids.  They were gracious enough to come up to Minnesota for two months and played with Ady and Brock while Kasey and I ran around all day trying to figure out what lodge owners are supposed to do.  Along with helping with the kids, they also pitched in and worked.  My Dad did things like build canoe racks, docks and tons of little fix it jobs.  So then when he asked me if I would be willing to help him with his wrestling team I thought I should oblige.

So last year we moved to the Salt Lake valley for the winter and I headed over to Summit Academy High School each afternoon.  Summit was a brand new school and of the 16 kids that showed up to practice the first day only one had ever seen a wrestling mat.  None had wrestling shoes and I could tell it was going to be a very long season.  Usually with any sports program you have some returning upperclassmen that show others the ropes and provide some interior leadership.  Well, we had no seniors on the team, one junior, 3 sophomores and 12 freshmen.  And let me state this once more, only one had ever seen a wrestling mat in their life.  So we started at square one and tried to teach these kids how to wrestle.  The school didn't even have a wrestling mat, so we ordered some mats that were more for gymnastics than wrestling and they didn't have the proper mat markings.  So upon arriving at our very first wrestling tournament, I took the kids down to the mats and showed them the out of bounds lines and starting lines.  Needless to say, we weren't exactly impressive at that first tournament.

By the end of the season we had improved, a few of the kids had one a jv match or two, but nothing to brag about.  This year we had more kids show up, got a real wrestling mat and had about half the team even show up the first day with proper footwear.  My dad and I sat down one evening after practice that first week and talked about preparing the team to wrestle in varsity tournaments this year.  I was thinking how are these kids going to handle wrestling at the varsity level and can we keep them from getting depressed as they get beaten when my dad asked me "how many do you think will qualify for the State Tournament?"  My answer was probably two(the two that had transferred in from another school).  He said he wanted to make a goal and have the team work for the goal.  Then he said he would give them a reward if they got the goal and let them shave his head for a school assembly.  We made a list of all the wrestlers that we thought had a remote(extremely remote) chance at qualifying.  There were 9 kids on the list.  So the next day at practice my dad announced that if 8 kids qualified for the state tournament they could shave his head.  We wrestled a few teams, got beat by scores like 63-8 and 69-10.  Went to a several tournaments, mostly got pinned in the first round.  Then we had a couple of injuries and even lost one senior to bad grades.  Well I was thinking that his hair was safe.  We kept pushing the kids, and working with them.  Even had a couple of team movie nights where we tried to show them an inspirational sports movie.  So February rolls around along with region/divisional qualifying and we take 17 kids.  One of the more talented wrestlers then gets disqualified before the tournament begins.  So now the team enters 16 kids.  Two days later, Summit Academy had qualified 10 of the 16 kids for the State Wrestling Tournament!  The day before heading off to State, the school had an assembly and here are the results...

The front and sides.  Ady and I decided that he resembled Professor Ludwig Von Drake.

Kasey and I decided to be crazy and go on a vacation without the kids.  We were able to get my parents to take the kids for 10 DAYS! while we headed south to Belize.  It was awesome.  We spent a day and a half in Guatemala and the rest of the time in Belize.  We visited 6 Mayan ruin sites, Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, Caracol, Altun Ha, Lamanai and Tikal.  We also went to the Rio Frio Cave and the Actun Tunich Muknal Cave.  We spent a day on San Pedro Island and another day on Caye Caulker snorkeling.  The trip was incredible.  While we would not recommend anyone visit Belize City, we would recommend visiting the rest of Belize.  Our favorite area was the Cayo District with all the ruins and caves.  One of the caves had old Mayan pots and even skeletons!  When we were at the ancient ruin sites they let us climb pyramids and even go into some of the tombs.  Having traveled in Mexico and Guatemala before I was surprised at how different Belize seemed.  I suppose that having everyone speak english(Belize's official language) was part of that.  We ate fresh tropical fruit(dragonfruit, pineapple, papaya, banana, watermelons), watched monkeys climb around in the trees, and layed in a hammock loving the warm weather.  Since the trip was too awesome to give every detail there are too many pictures I created a video on youtube.  Check it out!

Hair and Quilt

After all summer of growing our hair out, and telling everyone that we are going to give it to a girl who doesn't have any, we finally cut off our hair.  I asked Ady if she wanted to grow her hair long again.  She said no.  I admit that I am not minding having short hair either. I think she is enjoying not having to go through the brushing of her long hair a lot!  It has been really great to teach Ady about giving of ourselves when we can.  She is really excited about giving Christmas presents too.  Now if only Brock would catch on.  We went to the store yesterday to buy a couple presents for their cousins, and all Brock would say is "No! I want a present for me."

I actually finished this quilt for our bed quite a bit earlier this year, but I just finally got around to taking a picture of it....So here is my project.  I like it.  It has also cured any thought of being domestic for quite a while, maybe longer.  I did use my Mom's quilter and I thought it was harder than it looks. Most of the reason to make this was so I could try her machine(and to have a quilt that actually fits my bed). I ended up free handing it and just making small squiggles and loops as you can see in the close up below.   I need to also thank Adam's Aunt Joy and Uncle Karey, my Mom and Aunt Cindy for helping me get this done!  They are all way more talented at this than I am.  Thank you for sharing your talents.

December already!

The kids were pretty happy to see Santa at the grocery store, especially cause he had candy.  This was too cute not to share.  Can't believe it is the holiday season already.  We are getting pretty excited about it.

Zip Line and Canoe Races

Adam, Brent(Adam's Dad) and I took an early afternoon before the 2012 canoe races this year and tried out the new Gunflint Canopy Tour.  It is a series of 8 zip lines through the Superior Nat'l Forest above Gunflint Lake.

We went out with a group of 7 riders and 2 guides; everyone lands on the platform, most of which were built right into majestic 300 year old pine trees.  Sometimes the platforms can be close quarters and they are pretty high up(couple hundred feet).  At least we are all strapped in with our harnesses.

Some of the zips were pretty long and you can get going pretty fast.  The only thing to break your speed is your gloved hand dragging on top of the line.  If you want to go faster you curl up like a ball, like Brent is showing in the above picture.

Here is Adam coming in for landing from the final zip.  I am not sure who enjoyed it the most, but Adam continuously claims to many of our guests that it was me.

The kids got to hang out with Grandma, Rashel & Bekah(a couple of our summer staff) and Kerri and her boys while we took the ride.  They had lots of fun having minnow races, and enjoying the other kid activities before the canoe races started.  The Canoe races were fun to watch especially the gunnel pumping(where you stand on the back of the canoe and pump your legs to move the canoe forward) race which we missed last year due to in inclimate weather.  Here we are-along with everyone else on the Gunflint Trail that day too- enjoying the races.  We kept waiting to be lucky and win something from the drawing, but the only one who seemed to be lucky was Rashel.  She bought 2 tickets and they drew both of hers.  No one else got a thing.  The funny thing was though, she won what we donated.  That takes real luck!

1st day of Kindergarten

Here is Ady on the first day of kindergarten.   If you can't tell by her smile, she was very excited.  School doesn't start until after Labor Day in Minnesota(which I am glad about).  She's been counting down for a while and when she got down to two days before she was supposed to start, she told me in a very serious(almost mad) voice "I can't wait any more.  I can't.  I need it to start now."
We noticed after taking pictures that while Ady may be looking a little more like Mom now, she is not a girl after my own heart.  Who wears a skirt to school?  Ady does.  She picked it herself.  And it looks like it's a good thing that I made her wear shorts under...looks like Dad forgot to make sure she pulled it straight after getting out of the truck after the drive to the bus stop.
Here is Ady on her way.  My Mom always took me to school on the first day.   Ady was excited to ride the bus and she does have a long bus ride--about 45 minutes one way.  We'd already had a Pre-Kindergarten orientation day,  so we opted to have her ride the bus to school in hopes that she won't realize it is an option to drive her.   Apparently they did an article a bit ago about the longest bus ride in the nation and the kids that ride.  Yep, it was about our bus. At least we are only 1/2 way!

After the following conversations, getting Ady to say much about school was like pulling teeth.

Dad:  What was your favorite part of school?
Ady: Everything!
Mom:  Great!
Ady:  Except quiet time.  It was too long. I don't like resting. I don't like quiet time.  I only like quiet time when Brock has it.

Dad:  How was the bus ride?
Ady: Good, but these boys behind me were throwing things at me.  Why were they doing that?
Dad:  They were flirting.
Ady:  What? What is that?
Dad:  Its what boys do when they like you but they aren't very smart about it yet.
Ady:  But Dad, why would they do that?!

The only thing we worried about with the change of our first child starting school was how Brock would be at home.  He plays pretty good by himself, but we think he might get a little bored...in a couple days.  We will see.
It took a bit of time and effort, but Dad (and Grandpa VT helped when he was here) built something to play on to help pass the time and we are all very excited about it.
Here is the new addition to our property.

We've all given it quite a bit of attention; the boys even put a "platform' up so they could get higher.  Thanks for the fun rope swing Dad!

Bridal Falls Hike

Ady, Rashel and I hiked to Bridal Falls up the Gunflint Trail a little bit ago.  The rains were abundant and there were 6 overflows.  I couldn't get them all in one picture, but it was a great scene and well worth the hike in.
Ady was a great trooper and I only had to piggy back her on the way out.

Rashel and I at the Gunflint Lake overlook; apparently Ady, the photographer, thought the sky and lone tree were more beautiful than the lake though. If you look really close you can see a little bit of the lake down there.

Next time I go, I will be sure to remember to wear long pants and tuck my socks in to my pants-hiker style.  We had probly over 100 ticks on us!  Yuck!  Even so, it was a great trip, and next time I will bring Adam along.

Awesome Clearwater Youtube Video

We haven't thought much about blogging lately because we are so busy working.  So I thought I would blog a little bit about what we have been doing at work.  One of our big issues is we have too many openings at the lodge, especially during May and June.  Kasey and I have been trying to come up with more ways to get people to want to visit the lodge.  We met someone who was willing to help us by making this video for us and traded a cabin rental for the production of this video.  We think that it turned out really well and are hoping that more people will want to vacation here.  If you want to see a little of what we do, and our lodge, please check out the video.

Ady and I went on a 2 day canoe/camping trip last week with Uncle Carl and Cameron.  We had a ton of fun and enjoyed the beauty of the Boundary Waters together.  Our campsite was remote and we had a great sunset.
When we woke up the next morning the water was perfectly calm and great for paddling.  Ady told me that next time we need to take Brock and Kasey.  Hopefully next year the 4 or us can go on a canoe trip together.
Ady's favorite part of the trip was when we found a family of Loons.

Ady the Literalist

These are some of the converstaions lately with Ady

Ady:  Mom I have to go potty right now.
Mom:  Are you going to pee your pants?
Ady:  Do you mean pee my shorts?

Ady:  Rashel(Ady's self-proclaimed best friend who is 20 years old, is Kasey's cousin, and is working with us this summer), I made you a sign with my name on it, in case you forget my name.  Then you can just read it and remember. Do you want me to put Brock's name on it too?

Ady was saying her prayers when Mom was putting her to bed.  She got to the middle and this followed:
Ady:  I don't know what to say.
Mom:  Say what you would like to be blessed with.
Ady:   Tell me whatever what you want me to say Mom.
Mom:  Okay, say what just told you I want you to.
Ady:  Please bless Mom can have whatever she wants.
Mom:  Okay, that works.

Ady:  All these people are coming to see the Lodge and I have to show them all the Lodge and all the cabins.  And all the people keep coming to the Bunkhouse and I just keep showing everyone the Lodge and the Bunkhouses.  And it is driving me crazy.  And it is driving me nuts.  And I am getting tired.

Dad:  How was your pre-kindergarten day?
Ady:  Just fine.
Dad:  Who was your teacher?
Ady:  Mr. Sleepy
Dad:  Ok was your teacher a boy.
Ady:  No
Dad:  Huh.
(her teacher was Mrs. Schliep)

Busy Busy

In the midst of smells of sawdust that is all over the lodge and another fishing opener in Minnesota, here is a "hi" from Brock and Ady in their favorite place(well, unless you count finding all the worms under the log chairs surrounding the firepit).
The last month seems a bit of a blur as we have moved to Minnesota again and continued working at Clearwater Resort.  We have found ourselves very busy with all sorts of new projects, beginning to train a new crew of workers, and getting back into the swing of working with customers who are wanting to spend time up in the Boundary Waters.  We don't blame them.  We are wanting to get out there too, but have been a bit busy with a few things like redoing the entire plumbing system in the Lodge and putting in a commercial kitchen.  We did get a chance to paddle and hike to the palisades across our lake a couple weeks ago.

Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter! This year we actually made it to an Easter Egg Hunt with the kids. It was their first. They both had lots of fun, and so did their parents and grandparents. Brock seemed to be getting tired, but after his mom helped(pushed) him to where each egg was after the "Go" was given, he would pick up the egg and put it in his basket. After about 5 eggs he was done. So we watched all the other kids and parents run around the whole field. Ady was on the other field with her dad, and had a plan for her first egg pickup right in front of her. When the "Go" was given, she completely forgot and ran off about 15 feet right to another egg. Then, remembering the first egg she had planned on picking up, turned right around and ran back to get it first. She then had a great time running to the center of the field to pick up more eggs, the whole time passing plenty of eggs on her way to get her next one.

Fun in March

March has been a busy month for us. Two sport shows, moving out of our apartment and a trip to Vegas. But in between the chaos we had time for some fun.
Kasey, Ady and Brock made cinnamon rolls one day that were absolutely amazing. Of course we did find a few egg shells in the rolls. Being that Brock and Ady helped with every step of the process we wonder what else was in there that we didn't know about.
Last month Ady and Grandma(mostly Grandma) made Ady a ladybug quilt. Ady thought that Brock should have one of his own so they have been working on it. Brock thinks that anything Ady can do he can also handle. So here he is running the quilting machine. His blanket has sections where the design is almost covered up by very short lines of thousands of stitches.
Ady and Brock love to go to the library and check out books and movies. Being Brock broke the TV 3 months ago and we didn't get it fixed we have to watch movies on the computer. Ady picked out a learn to dance movie and wanted Mom to learn the dance with her. She even went and got her tutu on for the lesson. Brock saw the girls dancing and ran over to join them. Here the three of them are "dancing". Note that all three are watching the same lesson and all have their arms in a different position.
This is not a picture to show that Brock can play the piano. It is a picture showing that Brock and Ady put stickers on every key of Grandma and Grandpa's piano. I think that they found it to be far more fun putting the stickers on the piano than it was taking them off.

Brock's Heart Check-up

Today we had Brock's big cardiology appointment at Primary Children's Hospital. Last time they were so happy with his progress that they asked up to come back in about a year. Today the doctor said that if he hadn't seen firsthand how bad his condition was back in April of 2010 he would never have believed the medical report today is for that same boy. He was very impressed with Brock's progress and told us that he should have no restrictions and won't need to come in for 2 years! Just walking into the hospital brought back so many memories of that awful ordeal and reminded us how blessed we are to have the power of prayer and so many people who helped out by praying for Brock. The memory of the day we found out his first surgery didn't go as well as planned and finding out that Brock would need a second surgery and likely a third surgery as a teenager were days that still bring chills to Kasey and I. Today the doctor said that his heart is doing great, some very slight leakage but he may never need another surgery if he continues to progress and his heart continues to get stronger and healthier on his own. He told us to not limit him at all if he wants to play sports he can. Of course Brock is not yet two and we have decided to wait another year before he auditions to join the Jazz.
Over the summer we had a jar in the lodge store for collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Ady got to be very good at taking them off of soda cans. Ady would even tell people that we stayed there when her brother was in the hospital and collect them to give them so that we can help other sick kids and their families. We decided that today was a good day to take our jar in and donate it. So here are the kids giving the jar of pop tabs to the young woman who worked there. Afterwards I asked Ady how she felt inside since she did such a good thing like giving the jar of pop tabs to the charity. She looked at me and said, "Dad, I think I feel hungry". We decided we should probably go get lunch.
We have started having Ady and Brock do the dishes occasionally. Usually this consists of several minutes of cleaning up water and soap that is all over the floor when they finish. I thought I would share a picture of our family "activity". And yes if you look closely you will notice that Ady is wearing two dresses. I guess when you can't decide if you want to wear a purple or a pink dress you wear them both.
Another thing lately is that we have started to play more board games with the kids. Usually we play dominoes and after one or two rounds just end up setting them up on end so that Brock can knock them down.
I was up at the lodge a couple of weeks ago and thought that I should share a picture of the place in the winter. It was so peaceful and quiet. We had about 16 inches of snow to trudge through, but that was better than the almost 3 feet that were on the ground last winter when I was up there.
Kids sure are cute sometimes. Somebody once gave us some parenting advice that you shouldn't just ask your kids what do you want, but instead give them choices. Makes sense to us since that is also a great principle in sales. Well Ady seems to have picked up this technique. A little bit ago she went up to Kasey and said, "Mom, I am going to give you three choices and let you pick one. We can either have some candy, or watch a movie, or eat lunch." She was fed lunch.

Catching up on life

It has been a while since we did much blogging and I found some old pictures on our camera. This picture here with the kids in front of the our tree that they are so proud of decorating is one that I felt had to be given its moment even if Christmas is a month and a half past. Fortunately the kids know that we care more about getting their picture, rather than the tree, and stand right in front of it so that we all can't enjoy looking at how haphazardly they decorated it.Here is a great picture of Brock asleep. He will sleep in the funniest positions. In this one he has no blankets around his lower body and you can't see them, but his legs are up on the sides of his pack-n-play. I am sure that his head and shoulders did not get cold.
Brock has decided that he likes to wear a hat just like dad. Here we are together showing off our awesomeness. On an aside about awesomeness... Ady recently decided that we all have super powers. She informed us that we all have up to two super powers. Her's are that she can see things far away really well and things that are close she has super seeing power for also. Brock we were told has a super finding ability, because whenever we ask him where something is he can go and find it right away(usually this is because he is the one that has put it somewhere). Ady then went on to list 4 super powers for Kasey(super driving was one of them-she almost never drives, I do the driving). Well I asked her what my two powers were, and was told that I am super strong. I was feeling quite flattered and figured that the second power must be something great also. So I asked what my second power is. She paused thinking for a moment so I decided to inject a bit of influence into her choice. I simply asked, "is it super awesomeness?" She looked at me with big eyes and a confused look, then after a moment of thought said, "ummm... that is not what I was going to say." Ouch.
Ady is really into helping out around the house when it suits her. She loves going to Grandma Haddocks and working on the vinyl machine. She has asked several times when we will be moving back to Morgan to live by Grandma and Grandpa again. Kasey and her made some labels for our canisters and Ady is very proud of them. Something that is quite impressive about Ady is that she knows left and right. She loves giving us directions now with left and right. If only she was as good with right and wrong as she is about left and right. I shared this other story also on facebook, but will repeat it here for those who don't use facebook. We have been trying to work with the kids about being obedient and listening the first time we ask or tell them to do something. In order to reinforce our attempted teachings about obedience we had a lesson about Jonah one night for family home evening. A couple of days later Ady was not behaving well and I told her that she needs to work on being more obedient. Then I reminded her of the story of Jonah when he wasn't obedient. I asked her, "do you remember what happened to Jonah when he didn't obey?" She recapped the story and told me that he was eaten by a fish. I told her that people who are obedient get blessings and those who aren't are punished. Her response: "Don't worry dad, I am not in the water-no fish can eat me here".Here is Brock showing off his new outfit, complete with a tie. He seems to really like wearing his tie and even likes the suspenders. Such a dashing young man! Apparently Brock is really into sharing lately. I was in Chicago recently exhibiting for a sport show and while packing my suitcase Brock and Ady were enjoying some Jello. I wasn't paying much attention but was reminded the next day when I unpacked my suitcase and found the remnants of a fairly large square of Jello in my stuff.

Kasey and I have been very busy lately. We originally thought that having a business like ours that we would work hard in the summer and then have most of the winter months off. That is not the case. Not even close. We have been very busy working on a new website. The old one was outdated and had incorrect information. I never realized how much time and effort went into websites. Here is the link to the new site www.clearwaterhistoriclodge.com. Also Kasey has been very busy getting the books in order so that tax documents could be sent to various institutions and people. Along with interviewing potential staff, writing a new employee handbook, redesigning our menus and finding a new dehydrated food supplier, coming up with plans for the spring's construction projects, ordering items for the store and so much more, I have been traveling a bit for sport shows. Last month I was in Des Moine, Iowa and then Chicago, Illinois. This month I will be in La Crosse, Wisconsin and then Duluth, Minnesota advertising for the resort. Busy, busy, busy.
